JNU - Direct Admissions to Ph.D. Programme
The JNU offers a limited number of direct admissions to its Ph.D. program, either through viva-voce examination or a combination of written examination and viva-voce, as determined by the University. These admissions occur in both the monsoon and winter semesters across various research areas in the following schools and centers: School of International Studies; School of Social Sciences; School of Language, Literature and Culture Studies; School of Computer and Systems Sciences; School of Physical Sciences; School of Environmental Sciences; School of Life Sciences; School of Arts and Aesthetics; School of Computational and Integrative Sciences; School of Biotechnology; Centre for the Study of Law and Governance; Centre for Molecular Medicine; and Centre for Sanskrit Studies.Eligibility Criteria for Ph.D. Admission in JNU
>Candidates are requested to refer to the prospectus (available on JNU website www.jnu.ac.in for details regarding eligibility requirements for direct admission to Ph.D programme under the respective schools/special centres.Candidates who are currently employed and have been selected for admission must present a leave sanction order for a two-year period at the time of admission/registration. However, there is a limited provision for exempting this requirement for candidates employed in research and teaching institutions within the NCR (National Capital Region).
