Post-Graduate Indira Gandhi Scholarship for Single Girl Child For PG Programs
The objective of PG Indira Gandhi Scholarship for Single Girl Child scheme is to support post graduate education of single girl child in non-professional courses and to recognize the value of observance of small family norm.
UGC (University Grants Commission) has invited online applications from girl students ( who are the only child or girls who are twin daughters/ fraternal daughter in the family ) for the award of Post-Graduate Indira Gandhi Scholarship for Single Girl Child for the academic session 2013-15
with the purpose of supporting their post-graduate education through scholarship.
last date to apply online: December 9, 2013
Eligibility Criteria:
Age: Girl students up to the age of 30 years at the time of admission in PG courses are eligible.
This scholarship is available to PG-I year student only.( The scheme is applicable to such a single girl child who has taken admission in regular, full-time 1st year Masters Degree course in any recognized university or a post graduate college.)
Candidates admitted in post-graduate first year regular non-professional degree course in any recognized university or a post-graduate college during the current year i.e. 2013-14 are eligible. Students admitted in open universities are not eligible.
Any single girl child who happen to be a only child or twin daughter or fraternal daughter in the family, if one son and one daughter is available then girl child will not be considered for scholarship under the scheme.
Please note : Admission to PG Course in distance education mode is not covered under the scheme.
