The Joint Entrance Examination – Main, previously known as the All India Engineering Entrance Examination, is a standardized computer-based test in India. It serves as a gateway for admission to a range of technical undergraduate programs in engineering, architecture, and planning offered by colleges across the country.

The admission to the undergraduate programmes at the IITs and ISMU will be based on a two-tier test. The first test called the JEE (Main), This test is conducted by National Testing Agency.

Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) -ADVANCED

For IIT Entry JEE Advanced 

The Joint Entrance Examination – Advanced is an annual academic assessment conducted in India, evaluating applicants' proficiency in physics, chemistry, and mathematics. Organized by one of the seven zonal IITs (IIT Delhi, IIT Kanpur, IIT Bombay,IIT Roorkee, IIT Madras, IIT Guwahati and IIT Kharagpur) under the guidance of the Joint Admission Board (JAB), it selects qualifying candidates from the JEE-Main for admission to bachelor's programs at the Indian Institutes of Technology.

Eligibility criteria include a minimum 12th percentile of 75% for General and OBC candidates, and 65% for SC/ST applicants. Additionally, candidates must achieve a qualifying examination score in the top 20% of their respective category.

 Only 1,50,000 of the top rankers in JEE(Main), which includes students from all categories( GE,OBC(NCL), SC and ST ) will be eligible to appear in JEE(Advanced).

The JEE (Advanced) will have two objective type papers.

Each paper will consist of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

Duration of each paper will be 3-hours.

Question papers will be in both English and Hindi.

Admissions to IITs will be based only on category wise All India Rank (AIR) in JEE(Advanced) subject to the condition that such candidates are in the top 20 percentile of successful candidates of their Boards in applicable categories.
